Why does he ask for our vote?
Dear friends,
Today, more than ever, is of absolute necessity the promptness and aptitude of the powers which insist on claiming a national future of integrity and security for all the citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Democratic Party has always been on the leading front of the anti- occupation struggle conducted by our people, the very strengthening of which, is an indispensable precondition for the effective continuation of its historic mission.
The participation of the Republic of Cyprus as a full member in the European Union, is a product of collective work of the Cypriot citizens and should be valued as an active national treasure.
Our effectual participation in the procedures and institutions of the European Union is of vital importance since it holds a multi-layered meaning for every citizen. With the most important parameter of our participation being though, our National Problem. In this process, the broad spectrum of our capabilities should not be in any case undermined, since the size of the role is not analogous to the size of the scene. Besides, the fights have never been given and never won by those who did not believe in higher prospects.
The members of Demohave honoured and entrusted me by including my name in the Party’s ballot for the EU elections. Therefore, I, along with my worthy fellow candidates, consciously accede to this role and its consequent responsibility with great aptness and enthusiasm. Being equipped with the experience stemming from the decades of my service as carrier of the enlightenment mission abroad, I ask for your vote of confidence, so that I will continue to fight for the best interests of Cyprus.
